Glad to see I'm not the only one with crap on my PRIA for ridiculous reasons.

Spoke with airlines I plan on interviewing with and they said it won't be an issue as long as you bring any related paperwork to the event and disclose it during the interview process.

Your friend was not a required crew member. Cape Air is single pilot.

That may be the case now, but it wasn't for me. This was just a few years ago and not only did I not sign an agreement/contract, this subject was never even brought up. I was never in trouble or breached any contract and this was unjustly put on my record. Can't really spin that any other way, thats not right. Also if the AP is deferred(not so uncommon) and its IMC, you are required to have an FO. So what you said isnt entirely true. Cape Air wants you to think you're there as a favor to you by them, and its simply a falsehood.

For a lot of people, Cape Air is their first experience with airlines...it was for me. You have to live it to understand what its like trying to commute with Cape Air as your only option to some outstation like Ogdensberg, SLK, BHB, etc. Not to mention as an FO, you bring home about $12-1300/mo. Its not difficult to live on, its pretty much not possible. If they want people to not be so quick to leave maybe they should improve the company for employees. Can't blame people for wanting a better job.

He is a first officer. Trained as one and on the trip sheet. If they don't want to pay FO's, then don't hire guys who don't meet captain minimums.

Haha "screwed up the company"...please. There were/are many problems regarding the way FOs were treated. Cape Air screwed the company because they failed to adapt like other regional airlines. Instead of offering some sort of incentives, they offer a threat. The whole PRIA thing is a joke. Talk to many people at the major airline level (pilots, recruiting and upper management) and they just laugh.

Most of the butthurt captains at Cape Air were just angry that they missed the boat. It's jealousy to the max. Seriously if it wasn't, why would anyone care and feel so butthurt about where another individual went? I mean year 1 at a regional making more than a 4-5 year captain at Cape Air, getting seniority, and flying a piece of equipment that will benefit the future your career during a time when mass retirements are about to begin. Hmmmmmm why are those darn FOs leaving again?

This. An attitude of why many are leaving. Yeah if I was constantly told how unimportant I was, I wouldn't want to work for that company either. It's so funny how FOs are not needed until they leave. Just hilarious how that ideology works.

Cape Air 4-5 yr capt $50-65,000+
Cape Air 10 yr capt $80-100,000+ Home every night/Benefits

As an 8 yr part timer I grossed $47,000 in 2015

Endeavor 1st year FO: 50k at minimum per month.
Average Regional FO 1st year: easy to make over 40K
Average Regional Captain 1st year: 60-70k+.

Part time guys are making more than full time guys with incentive pay. If you made 47k as an 8 year captain, you need to start looking for another job. Right now an 8 year captain at 9E can be making near 100k a year. Say you are at Skywest, you would be making around 80k.

I don't see your math here though...a 10 year Cape Air captain makes $26 an hour. There is a 40 hour a week minimum. That comes out to about $50k a year. Sure there is all the overtime and whatnot, but the same can be said for a regional which has a 10 year base pay of around 80k.

Yes Cape Air needs FO's when an autopilot is deferred or a high mins captain is flying with pax IFR. Cape air needs about 10 FO's system wide to cover those two circumstances. The company just hired about 60 first officers. They all signed a letter of commitment as their terms of employment. Remember, these pilots had 500-800 hours total time. Cape Air's letter states that they are being hired to build ATP minimums and fly for Cape Air as a captain for one year. Anyone who bails before then is not leaving on good terms. Therefore, the pilot broke a written agreement. Where is the integrity. FYI, I made $72000 my second year as a captain at Cape Air. I am well on track to make 120K this year at Cape Air and like many others say, I'm home every night with my family.
