It sounds as if you're involved in or close to management. Would you be able to provide more specific minimums and what the company is looking for? I got one of those initial video app interviews and never even got a "thanks but no thanks" out of it. I know a lot of other people that did too. So what exactly are they looking for? Or better yet, how many positions versus applicants are there? I'm always curious to know.

Minimums are low, they want current IFR and comm ticket, be comfortable flying at night and in IMC. They want to hire solid people over just hours, they want good people they can trust on the road solo. If you had an interview and nothing else, it could be your personality, but could be the fact that they just did an acquisition/merger, so some things were falling between the cracks. They have some long standing contracts working RF and also plenty of surveying. You fly when and where they need to, you're full time, but plan on being on the road more than home. Salary is around 35k plus or minus a few, plus per diem. Travel while working is paid by company (hotels). You'll build time quickly from the sounds of it. It is best if you're local to the airport you'll be based out of.
I would have taken the job if I wasnt offered a job as part of a king air crew during the holding period during some of the company changes, which hit right after my interview.

Geomni listed a pilot position very close to where I live and I'm interested in applying. Does anyone happen to have a point of contact?

Thanks in advance

One of the better gigs in the surveying industry for low time. Highly recommend, well kept airplanes and no, you don’t share rooms when you are on the road. At least in my experience so far.

They have an office about a 2 hour drive (no traffic) from me. I applied, did a phone screen with them, then looked at typical commute times which made it much less appealing. The folks I talked to were very straightforward and it sounded like a good opportunity for anyone with a couple hundred hours under their belt looking to build time pretty quickly.

I applied to Verisk/GVAir/Geomni last August and received a reply back to interview within about a week. I didn't like there interview format then. They were using a company called hirevue where they asked you fiveish questions and you responded in a YouTube like video feed back. No back and forth conversation with a person so you can gauge what they are saying and ask follow-up questions about the job. Nope you just stared into your computers webcam and answered their questions.

I didn't play there game, just let the video run with the wall as the background and told them I thought there hiring process was impersonal. In reality I should have just played there hiring games I'd have the times to apply for a regional now. Had 135 vfr mins and around 80 multi with my comm single/multi when I applied.

I'm not sure if you applied to a certain hub, but that interview is completely different than my experience.
I applied while enroute to my commercial multi-add-on; got a call within a week for a conference call interview. After that it was an in person meeting with the hub manager followed by a check-out flight with their chief pilot.
They definitely want to hire the right person for the job, rather than just another person to fill a PIC slot.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to reach out. Shout out to Maxwel!
