Default Anything works!!!

Thanks for making this section for us low timers.
I am not sure if I can make this post here, but am going for it. If this was a big mistake, please feel free to remove this post without asking + a warning would be appreciated, so I will always remember to think twice before make a post here

I have a commercial single engine and multi engine + CFI with over 350 hours, always get negative response from places I have been applying at. So far sent out resumes to over 500 places worldwide and always no response or there is no job because of my low time. I was wondering if any of you guys know anyone hiring at this rough time, any things works, jump piloting jobs, pipe line patrolling , anything and willing to move to anywhere for a job.

My e-mail is: [email protected]

Thanks soo much

The short answer is no. The problem is there are plenty of pilots with the same ratings and more hours than you applying to the same places. You can send out all the resumes you want, but when someone in charge of hiring takes a look at the submitted resumes, 350 hours will be on the very low end.

Jump jobs and banner jobs are tough to get too. They usually want pilots who already have experience with skydiving and tailwheel aircraft. Your best bet is to network and get to know some operators. Hang out at the airport and talk with people. If you are lucky you might come across someone who needs a pilot.

If your really really desperate apply to the upstate ny place i just posted about, its bad work, bad place, but its a job that pays a few pennies, someone else will take it otherwise. Outside that its tough, jumper flying can be low time, but its not exactly that type gig, my other advice is find a nicer cessna 182 dz and meet the owner, make a deal like your work manifest for a month and maybe pay for your jump training, and show him you will stay for at least the remainder of the season, become a friend. Places don't like hiring people they don't know because they just up and split. Good luck and keep your head high something will come. Also don't use the internet you need to go meet people!

The advice above needs a caveat. Use the internet as an additional form of networkng. This forum has been great for me personally with networking and meeting people. Just don't rely on this forum, and only this forum ,for either networking, finding a job, or advice. It is just another tool on the belt.

I have been truly occupied in networking, and meeting lots of peeps, but this low time is the only hitch I am facing due to many aircraft insurance. This post was kind of a last try to hear more advices from you professionals.

Didn't say I disagreed with you. The internet is the lowest chance of finding a job period. But the internet - especially amongst a peer group - can be a great way to network and that is where I focused my reply to MFD. Networking through varied means could lead to knowing someone and that might lead to getting a job. Agreed?

Btw - not sure what "haha YoU lol jk" is suppose to mean. Are you implying that I am treading of your turf or something?

It is tough for everyone out there MFD. I didn't start networking until about 2 years ago which was way too late. Maybe at other times in the industry networking might have been more important in certain specific areas of the business, but now it seems to be key just about everywhere.

There are threads upon threads on APC about the tough times facing aviation right now. You are facing a particular tough times exasperated by your low time and no real world work experience. You are going to have to rely on hard work, shaking hands and kissing babies (in a get out meet and greet the people - politician sort of way) and a good dose of out of the blue, old-fashioned LUCK.
