Default CFI vs SIC part 135

I would like to know what experienced guys think about CFI vs flying a caravan SIC. Which one would benefit me more....I know both have pros and cons, in the 208 I'm guaranteed at least 50h per month and its a 1 year contract. At the flight school I dont have anything guaranteed. Which one do you think will advance my career for good?

Are you taliking about pacific wings or georgia skies ?/ What are your hours ?/ SIC in a S.E. turbo prop is not very valuable. As a matter of fact SIC time in anything but a jet is not very valuable either are you anywhere near regional mins 1000 and 100 ME ??

IMHO the regionals are starting to hire if you sign a 1 year contract and the airlines want you, you are locked in .....

I'd definitely go with the 208 gig. I hated instructing so that's part of it. But its also true that the first 1000 hours are the toughest to get. And you have a chance at 600 turbine in one year. Go for it! Also, I think there is much more to learn flying the line as opposed to teaching stalls and steep turns.

If I was a recruiter looking for a pilot in the 1000-1500 hour range, I'd go with the guy who has experience on turbine equipment and real-world flying, no doubt.

Flying as SIC in a plane that doesn't require 2 pilots=Why are you flying a plane as SIC when it doesn't require 2 pilots?

That is all

Flying SIC in a PIC only aircraft = logging passenger time, not SIC time.

I agree with ewflflyer It is to my knowledge that airlines frown upon logging SIC in aircraft that only require a one man crew and its a caravan its not even multi time... PIC Piston Multi > SIC SE Turbine Time .. If I were you depending where your TT/ME is at I would do the CFI and you can always look for something one the side... which is exactly what I am doing right now But good luck in whatever road you decide to take !!!

Not if the regulations the flight is being operated under require 2 pilots.

While this is legally true, some operators still chose to ignore the time as all you are flying is an overweight 182.

I do and don't agree with it, it's really one of those situations that require them to be looked at individually, but companies usually don't have that sort of time to look at each case this way, hence why I feel it is, in the long run, a waste of time (Unless your goal is to fly caravans of course.)

Hey AKASHA thats all great if hes got near 1000 hours I am hearing so many guys wanting to leave being a cfi thinking that the aviation world is just uitching to hire someone There is a crap load of guys dying for work out there !!

Being SIC in a plane deigned for single pilot ops without even a retractable gear system ?? Probably a fun job but hardly one that gives experience . My guess is most of that SIC time will be supervising boarding, safety briefings and and cargo loading with helping monitor ( time ) engine starting temps !!

but lets get back to my original question and point Who is this outfit ? If its Pacific wings forget it also what happens when he gets a call for a regional interview Can he get time off can he break a 1 year contract ??
