Default Entry Level Diver Driver?

Hey all, I know most places only take guys with prior jump experience or 500tt, but are there any places in the US or carribbean that take would take someone with 300tt? I checked every drop zone in New Jersey and it's always 500tt or experience. Maybe I could ride along to get seat time? Where are the best places to get entry level experience?

You can see how the operation conducts business (though doubtful since you would be non-paying weight), but even riding along isn't going to get you any closer to that 500TT required. You aren't gong to be able to log that time.

Comes down to the insurance, one dropzone I worked at required the new guy to get 10 hours supervised, who logs the time? IMHO the person manipulating the controls, not the guy the insurance says needs to be there.

250TT shouldn't be a problem, got my first job dumping people out of airplanes at 260TT.

If you are willing to leave the New Jersey area there are quite a few places that are likely to hire you with 300TT. Check these out:

Sky Diver Driver

Dropzone.com: Skydiving Community, Skydive Information

U.S. Parachute Association > Find a DZ

Many of the jobs posted at skydiver driver require 500 tt but some don't advertise their minimums and might be the ones who will hire at 300TT.

Good luck!

I believe that is the easiest decision one could ever be faced with.

Started my first flying job about 2 months ago at a local DZ. Hired with less than 500tt. It happens.
