Default Bush Pilot Experience

Any Bush Pilots on here?

I've read a ton about it online already, just wanted to see if there were any on here that could share their experiences and salary expectations. I'm kind of interested in becoming one.

Thanks

I guess the most important question is what does the term "bush pilot" mean to you?

And what bush do you refer to? Alaska? Africa? Borneo? South America.
It makes a huge difference.

I have done the majority of my flying in the lower 48 States, and have recently started flying in Alaska. PM me if you have any inquiries about it.

IIRC there was a girl there who went from stripper to Era (Hageland) pilot about 5 or 6 years ago.

If you think you're a good pilot Alaska will be a wakeup call for you. My first revenue flight after IOE I dispatched to skagway with winds gusting to 38 across the runway.

Flying in Alaska is the most fun you'll ever have in an airplane. That said you'll be wet, dirty, tired, sore and run ragged even if you never make a gravel landing.

Very very true. I spent a year and a half in western Alaska, but decided to get out. Right now I am in training at a local company that will have me home every night.
