CFI Checkride

CFI Checkride
So this is no joke but, back when I got my fershly mented CFI the check ride was only 4.9hrs, the oral was only 4hrs and the flight was only .9hrs. The reason why, was the school had past students take notes of the question and anwsers (so they could be made into a 2 page packet and memorized by future applicants). After asking other CFI's about their intial check ride and listening to them tell me about sitting through an 8hr oral and demostrating every maneuver in the book, I felt like I was cheated out of a proper education. Any thoughts from other CFI's and low timers?

My concern was not mainly the checkride itself, but the prep for the checkride...It only took 60 days to prep for it, with mainly solo flights and maybe 5hrs of actual instruction. I didn't feel it was as challenging from what others have discribed it as.

I will inform you that its not for everyone chances are you might enjoy it far more then I did. I instructed for four months and realized it wasnt for me and I am currently pursuing other flying work, when I get back into currency. I say get it, and instruct for a little bit and see if its a good fit for you, you'll never know if you don't try. I started the trend because I feel like I got off eaiser then most of my friends that have their CFI. I flew jumpers for a while (doesnt pay very well) so had to get a real job. I am looking at getting into aerial imaging or surveying.
