Heard 12 new hires per month going forward was the word from daddy AA to Piedmont on Friday. Also heard Crew Planning, not to be confused with Crew Scheduling, was seeing a resignation “a day” as well. That is still a formula for a shrinking Seniority List if both are true….
Also.. we have no flight attendants all of a sudden... paying them poverty wages finally bit them in the rear..

but wait! You can come in and spin the wheel for “swag”!! Did we mention FA appreciation day and how much we appreciate our FAs!?!!? Oh don't forget the pizza party!!!!
Yeah….the FAs deserve better for the all the crap they put up with and deal with at PDT. Management treats them like dirt.

pretty sure the writing is on the wall that PDT will shrink as time goes on. AA is still reshuffling the Eagle fleet, but it seems obvious now that any growth at PDT is over with as long as PDT operates the 145.

You do realize in 2014 we only had 435 pilots, no jets, paper charts and 5 outstation crew bases. Piedmont was still functioning then. I’m trying to understand your obsession with this place closing.

I'm not saying PDT is closing up, in fact I have never said that. What I am saying is that given the current industry environment and the impact of how covid has shaken everything up (Eagle system-wide fleet still not set in stone) PDT will not grow as long as it operates the 145. It is clear they do not want to hire or expand the flight operation and the total number of jets on property is unlikely to increase. The goal from the top is to run lean and cheap and maintain competition factor and on time performance with the flying AA is allocating to PDT. Meanwhile, the "growth" or flight and routes from AA in the future will be more to other regional carriers that can put more butts in the seats with larger aircraft. PDT fills a niche void of shuttling passengers from the smaller cities to the hubs on the East Coast. There really is not much expansion there to be had.
