Default PDT Envoy or PSA

Understanding this is a forum and all the surrounding negativity....

Been out of the 121 world for coming up on a year (medical issue) and this issue hopefully getting resolved in the near future..

Which of the 3 WOs would PDT guys recommend?

I have 1200 hours of 121 time so DEC sounds nice and living near PHL certainly sways my decision in terms of avoiding commuting. Also I think my next move is to one of the three based strictly on the flow and having that in my back pocket.

A True DEC program currently doesn’t exist with PSA. Seems to have gone away after they switched to AQP... allegedly they hire Captain Qualidied FOs and don’t give a DEC bonus and upgrade the FOs as soon as their FO OE complete.

If you’re closer to PHL than LGA and want to be PHL based long term PDT over Envoy. If you’re closer to LGA, then Envoy May be a decent choice.

If you want long term QOL go PSA but realize their PHL base is smaller and its 9 months to hold a R1 line as an FO and 2 years 3 months as a Captain and 1 year 4 months just to hold reserve at PHL as a Captain so expect a 2 leg commute until then.

If you’re okay with 11 days off and min schedule flexibility to go along with a large PHL base and a DEC program, then PDT.

No question, go to PSA. We've got guys at the top of the seniority list that still only get 11 days off. By the time you get through Piedmont's atrocious training, you could have gone through PSA's twice.

Further, the company has been saying for some time now, and recently reaffirmed publicly, that there aren't plans to grow. Good luck gaining seniority when the only people below you are the few necessary to cover attrition, and everyone above you is sticking around waiting for the flow. You'll be on the bottom of the CA list forever as a DEC.

11 days off. Unlimited 4 hour extensions that they're happy to abuse on a regular basis. No plans to grow. Training department that is driving people away. If you want a PHL base, it's a no brainer, go to PSA.

Unlimited four hour extensions isn't just misleading, it's a flat out lie.

Otherwise, if you come to PDT expect 11 days off your entire sentence here. The qol of terrible, and I put up with it solely because I am here for the long game. Embrace the suck now, reap the rewards later (hopefully).

Pick your favorite Endeavor base and go there is the correct answer.

Flow at PSA at least is close to a decade for a new hire.

Because there are caps to JRMN extensions. If you're splitting hairs between a 4 hour extension and a 4:01 extension than you're being impractical and misleading at best

Perhaps I should have worded it differently so as not to confuse you. Let me clarify my language and say "the contract allows unlimited up-to-four-hour extensions".

It's very pertinent, considering most of our flying is ****ty turboprop turns, a lot of which fits in a four hour window, so getting two legs added on your go-home day is a regular occurrence for many.
