Unlike PSA, we don’t have procedure training after systems and before sims, just an evaluation. The squeeze comes during the 1st half-dozen sims where you’ll go from having never touched the aircraft to having run all of the big emergencies in the book, all without enough time to build an adequate foundation in normal stuff like running checklists and shooting an ILS.

As far as the abnormals go, you’ll see a lot of Bagg Smoke initiated Rejected Takeoffs, V1 cuts, and V1 engine fires that progress to engine failures before you reach 1000’. Good luck and welcome to Piedmont!
We do have 5 days of procedures training in-between systems and the sims.

1 week of indoc
2 weeks of systems
1 week of procedures
3 weeks of sims

I got 2-3 weeks off in-between each phase of training (I start sims in about a week)

Default Training Delays

Hi there! About to interview with Piedmont. Not that I really mind, to be honest, but more out of curiosity: I was wondering if there currently were any training delays in the FO initial qualification (like between modules for instance)? Could anyone who's currently in training or finished initial training recently let me know?

No more than 2-3 weeks at most in between the phases. The footprint is running around 3 months from indoc to finishing sims, not sure yet about any wait time for OE.

I hold an ATP(no typerating) with over 2700 hours of total. I am considering Piedmont Airlines to start my 121 career as an FO. Can anyone tell me pros and cons of Piedmont ?

money is amazing. Schedules are mweh but you’re making 6 figures as a regional FO…nuts. Came here for short reserve and quick upgrade. Had Covid not happened, I would of had both. I’m satisfied. Not excited. But satisfied. If you live in base or can make an easy commute, why not?
