AA announced 90 E175 jets. I believe PDT has about 60 active now and another 20 something parked. Are all 90 earmarked for PDT or will Envoy get some? I don't see PSA adding another fleet type beyond the CRJ170/190.

American is focused on bringing larger, dual-class regional aircraft into its fleet, which will continue to drive connectivity from smaller markets to the rest of the airline’s global network. The airline expects to retire all of its 50-seat single-class regional jets by the end of the decade and will continue to serve small and medium-size markets with larger regional jets.

Dual-class regional jets with premium seating, high-speed satellite Wi-Fi and in-seat power are expected to make up American’s entire regional fleet upon completion of the Embraer E175 deliveries. The new E175 aircraft will be operated by American’s wholly owned regional carriers.

The article posted on Piedmont's webpage reads like by 2030, the EMB-175 will make up the entire regional fleet. Gone will be the ERJ-145s and all Bombardier aircraft.
AA has recently bought more 900s for PSA, and most of PSA’s 900s aren’t that old and are in pretty good condition. They are going nowhere

First 12 go to Envoy. After that who knows.

Then those must be the last CRJ900s being produced. In 2020 Bombardier sold all production rights for the CRJ fleet to Mitsubishi who apparently has shelved production of the entire CRJ fleet, however, Mitsubishi continues to provide support for the CRJ fleet.

The last produced CRJ was in 2020. But AA is buying and refurbing 900 NextGen aircraft as they find them.

At how many years will the E-145s be retired? It looks like most are 20+ years right now. Getting pretty long in the tooth. What are the alternatives?

They can have all the stupid regional jets they want. At mainline. And stop acting like it’s the first time you’ve heard that.

You missed my point. No one is building 50 seaters any more. Typically at the current age of 20+ years they are headed to the desert. They will be replaced by 76 seaters, with less frequency.

Separately, your statement of 76 seaters (regional planes) becoming part of the mainlines is not the first time I have heard it. Look back in my postings several years. I was predicting that could happen, long before others said it was even a possibity. I got mud thrown at me. Look it up in my posts.
