Anyone else notice a shift for the worse in the last year? QOL is industry bottom and our VP thinks we have it the best. Its just crazy. We get barely 12 days off while other regionals are getting quite a bit more. I know our union is trying, but seem to be shut down with anything that would make this a desirable place to be. If the VP and DO are trying to run this company into the ground and drive away prospective pilots, they sure are doing a good job of it. Nothing but terrible things have happened since the new VP took over. I got my offer to united, so ill be out in a few weeks anyway.

I mean, let's be honest, Piedmont does not have a future. It probably could have limped along if the circumstances of the industry were different, but in the current world with unprecedented hiring at all the major airlines, Piedmont is toast. The flow is pointless unless you are within a year of flowing. Piedmont (and any regional, really) is not a long term job anymore. If you are not actively working to get out than you are going to miss the boat and become part of the next "lost generation" when you get to a legacy, and you will never have the seniority to have a good career (honestly that ship has sailed at Delta btw if you are anywhere near 30 years old. It's plain and simple numbers, do your research).
The 145 will not be around forever. 50 seat aircraft are a dying breed. The pilot shortage will be the final nail in the coffin for that. Piedmont will never change. Work on your apps, attend career fairs, and take the first offer you receive and get out.

If AA plans on eliminating the 50 seat planes, it affords them a method to move forward with the Piedmont pilots.

I have interviews with both Piedmont and Flex Jet coming up. I keep hearing that Piedmont is a better path to a legacy so I should take it, but I’d rather be at Flex since I’ll be a commuter to Philly at Piedmont. Thoughts?
