Piedmont Training

You'll hear horror stories about any training program if you ask around a lot.
I can't say that I've ever been through training- however I do know that several low time pilots have made it through to complete IOE. (Including one with ~270TT.)
If you prepare the proper way mentally and spend the time studying (and have the required basic instrument knowledge and procedures down), you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Unless they have changed it, which I don't think they have, it was pretty easy. As long as you have all your flows/callouts/limits down before you start the aircraft training, you'll be fine.

I am a former PDTer. The training is intense, BUT doable as long as you know how to fly on instruments. The guys in my class that failed out couldn't fly an ILS to save their lives. They are not there to teach you to fly an approach or hold. They are there to teach you to fly the Dash. Ground school is a fire hose of information, but if you show up having studied the home stuff you will do fine as long as you put in some after class study time. Good luck with your decision, I enjoyed my time there. You will learn a a lot from a lot of guys that have been around for a LONG time.
