Yes, and no.

Did it happen? I have no idea. People tend to tell you what you want to hear when they are in your jumpseat.

Do they care about what happens at the regional? You would be surprised. The regional pilot today, stands in their ranks in the future.

As an example: certain people from the last Eagle MEC regime that sold us out during the bankruptcy, are finding themselves not voted into APA when they flow. They are seen as a weak link when only strong ones are wanted. It turns out anyone can protest the base vote when you are up for admittance. You can reapply after six months, but the same protests will most likely still exist.

I'm not saying this is the case for certain regionals, I'm saying it CAN happen.

I can personally say my story.

I rode in a super80 js the other day FAT-DFW.

First question captain asks after "let me see your license and medical"

"Do you work for PSA or piedmont?" I said no why, and he didn't say anything. soon as the shoulder harnesses came off he and his FO proceeded to talk for the 2 hour flight about how they're lowering the bar and flying more people for less money and just making the company more money for less compensation and this and that.

Mind you I don't have a whole lot of dog in this fight as I do not work for either company and you guys should vote accordingly, but let me remind you this was completely unprompted and unprovoked. They just let me hear it and the FO was a 15 year FO.

They are watching and they do care. Don't you think for a second they don't. They, for the most part, are not happy iwth Parker and what he's done not only to AA but to the regional feed.

I have heard from more than a few mainline pilots that I commute with that they indeed are concerned about and watching what's going on at the regionals. Besides not wanting weaklings in their ranks, they are also looking at what they perceive as ( and I tend to agree with them ) Parker's long term plan. Parker will drive the cost disparity between the mainline and it's regional feed so large, that it gives him the ammo he needs to go after mainline scope next. He will use that to threaten pay cuts at mainline in order to get them to give the 190's up to the regionals. Then what's next, Airbus? 737's? Forget flow. They will have you right where they want you. Flying mainline aircraft at the regionals, for regional pay, for the rest of your career. THAT is what mainline pilots are afraid of. And they should be.

He knows they haven't voted but he knows they are next and knows the trend and likelihood of where it's going.

Believe me, for being a 25 year captain at AA, he knew way more at the regional level than half the guys I fly with

It doesn't have to end up that way though, and they will be just fine with one big wholly owned (PSA).

Question for ya... If you and Billyhobag really aren't management, as you claim not to be, then why do you keep trying to do managements work and spread fear and doom every chance you get? You both sound more like Glass, than an actual line pilot! Just about every real professional pilot I know is fed up with giving more and more in concessions, only to see management line their own pockets with ever larger bonuses and salaries, especially while the airlines are making all time record quarterly profits in the billions of dollars!

Which means he has no life. If I'm a 25 year Captain at AA I could care two sh&ts about the WO's. He'll they probably think the more money the squeeze from us the more money they'll get in there pockets.

Amazing how many Mesa and GoJets pilots have gotten hired at American.

I'll proudly tell anyone I work for Piedmont. And at that point someone wants to bring an attitude then be prepared to get one in return.

Wow, subjecting to the ad hominem? Classy.

How dare he care about the state of his industry and his employer. How dare he be interested in what his employer is doing to his feeders.

Really???

So posting Jumpseat stories is going to make Piedmont Pilots Vote "No". It's you that needs to get over yourself.

This vote is a done deal.
