boai77, everything cleared up just fine. It took about 3 weeks before everything was done, but it's good now. No problems going up and down in the airplane and equalizing.

I did not end up getting the tube. Basically, with all of the ENTs, what was recommended was to wait if I could, and get the tube if I couldn't. So it all depended on how much time I had. So, I decided to wait.

I have been looking into this. I suffer from nasty seasonal allergies and my ears get plugged up sometimes. I don't seem to get any infections but from time to time I have a problem clearing my ears while flying. They'll be fine for a month and then they start acting up. Not sure if anyone has had this problem. It's kind of weird but I can't really get any answers. I mean, heck my ears will be absolutely fine for half the climb then they just plug up for a little while finally clearing a little while later.

Anyone else had weird issues that just seem to pop up once in a while? How do the tubes affect your hearing?

i've never had problems until recently and I don't know if allergies or what. After flying for the day my left ear would ache. There would be no congestion or problems with pressure while flying which was odd.

It'll start aching a couple hours after flying and only last an hour or two. It has been on and off...some weeks I get it after a trip and some I don't.
