Default Eye Vision

Hi,

Is it true that most airlines won't hire pilots if they have less than 20/100 (0.5)eye sight without the glasses? I hear you must have minimum of 20/100 without the glasses.

thanks!

For many or most non-US airlines, probably true.

For US regional airlines, not true, you just need an FAA first class medical which requires vision that can be corrected to 20/20.

For US major airlines: The big ones used to have this requirement (because the FAA used to also) but since the FAA dropped it over ten years ago, I think most US major airlines either have dropped the requirement or will soon.
