Default Can hair loss be cause by wearing headset?

for the past year I notices my hair is getting thinner and thinner on top, and I figure it was my time to join the ranks of bald pilots. However, over the weekend my girlfriend notices I had a spot which was much thinner than the other, after some thought, I notice that that area is where my headset rest most of the time, and many times in flight I start feeling uncomfortable(up there) in that area and end up moving the headset to rest in other area of the hair.

Has anyone experiences something similar? if so, are there any solutions to slow down the inevitable? perhaps an change of headset to a Clarity Aloft or similar headset would help?

That is my story and I am sticking to it.

I'm chalking mine up to the stress of the job haha

Check out aloft headsets if you really think yours is a problem. I wouldn't trade mine for anything

I agree with checking out aloft. Good for your hearing too!

Genetics. Blame your parents/grandparents.

I know it has to do with genetics but still want to do everything i can in my budget. I curently using a bose x, and the to padding starts to bother after few hours.

Im not sure if the headset had anything to do, or it is what it is, just want to hear what other pilots have expirience.

Man, I thought the same thing when I started thinning. I accepted my fate when it started thinning in areas where the headset doesn't hang out.

Look on the bright side, you'll save a load of money on hair cuts!

Does everyone else have an ad for hair restoration at the bottom of their screen? Funny how that stuff magically starts to appear when you talk about it.
