When you are away from your base (e.g. overnight after flying) they will book and pay for it though.

What are RLD's?

I have never heard of anyone having trouble with it. Email your status rep immediately. Get them working on it.

In all seriousness, everyone that I know just calls scheduling and asked for a hotel. Scheduling will send the request to TravelAlliance.

RLDs are "relocation days". The company has to give you 4 days off in order to "relocate" to the new base. You get this every time that you change bases.

PSA Help, could you please provide a section and paragraph in the contract that states this? I would not have posted if I wasn't experiencing this scenario as I posted! I've looked in section 5B2a and 6 and neither have verbiage supporting the company's requirement to book and pay for my hotel up front. I'm on my first RAP after IOE, in my awarded domicile, and my RLD's begin tommorow. Crew scheduling told me they are not required to book or cover my hotel when I'm back in domicile. I know they will reimburse it later, but new hires should know the policy and location if they hear the same coming out of training.
This is a great example of the need to know your contract in and out so someone's else's lack of knowledge doesn't create a hardship for you.

Thanks in advance for the help and all you do.

You must've been dealing with a scheduler that is new/doesn't really know what they are talking about. Ask for a supervisor.

Is your home address more than 50 miles from base?

What they told you is true, but your house is your base until your RLD's. So if your in domicile then your not in your base, unless your domicile and base are the same town.
Section 6 first paragraph. I think there is a LOA signed a couple of years ago that's goes into more detail on the PSA ALPA website.

Also in a general commit, the MEC should authorize changes to the contract to include the pertinent LOAs where they apply in the contract.
I have read other contracts, and they are living documents that include LOA changes where they apply. Attaching them in the back worked better with fewer LOA's and less pilots and new hires. Additionally, not all the LOA's are in the actual contract but are listed on the PSA alpa website.

Ok, issue was resolved after discussion with Chief Pilot. They're required to pay for hotels before RLD's and my home is more than 50 miles from my base. After the RLD's however it is on my nickle unless they displace me from my base to sit reserve at another base. They will reimburse the hotel NOT under the commuter policy so it will not count against the $250 for the month to preserve that benefit.
So thanks to all for the help...

So outside of recruiting advertisement - for a new FO, what will real world gross salary be for Year 1, year 2 and as a Captain in Year 3 - not trying to get legalistic, but what are real pilots seeing as an annual salary at PSA under current contract?

Thanks much CM23

What's the uniform allowance?

Does the headset have to be TSO'd?

Thanks

$400 after the first year. Initial uniform comes out of your paycheck, and is divided up over several months. You only have to buy the uniform pieces you want.

Does PSA have a leather jacket that is permitted for wear?
