Not at this time. Either the all weather overcoat or trench coat is permitted.

Default Health insurance

Can anybody give me the range a guy with a family of four might pay for healthcare? It was mentioned on another thread that PSA is using a new company and the health insurance is significantly worse than before. Can someone please explain this?

Tough question to answer....The premiums may be a fixed rate but if you need an ER visit and no one dies good luck getting covered by our garbage insurance......That our CEO doesn't even know the name of.

All health insurance policies are worse than they were a few years ago. You can thank the ACA for that. PSAs policy initially denies a lot of claims, so you just have to submit it a few times and it will get covered. The union is fighting it and starting to make progress.

They just announced that they are working with additional hospital companies in the Charlotte area to expand the network coverage, since it is our largest base.

It costs about $162/paycheck to cover a family on plan B.

One of the largest providers just announced that they were pulling out of the exchange in Ohio. This is right after Anthem announced it earlier this year. I was going to leave the reserves but I don't think I can afford it.

That's BS. You really expect to recruit mature pilots with families only to subject them to this type of service?

What happens in the meantime, while your claim is denied? Do you have to pay out of pocket and hope that PSA reimburses you?

Unfortunately, no matter where you work, or apply for work, this will likely be the case. I just talked to a friend of mine that works in state government. Their monthly premiums just went up to where they're only about $60 less a month than yours, and they're starting to face the same issues with coverage complications. This isn't an issue exclusive to PSA. My thought is that if it can happen to state employees, it can happen to anybody.

No... and financially I can't think of any reason you would want to.

The only issue I have seen is that they do not provide individual dental. It has to be bundled. I have Delta through my current employer, because what they offer you when you retire is ridiculous. As of now, I am planning on paying for my own coverage instead of using one of the company offered insurance plans.
