Is philly jr for FOs? Is it likely to get it out of training? What’s reserve like if you live 1 hour from the airport? What does a paycheck look like on reserve in philly (after taxes)
Other questions:
Can anyone confirm that the flow to AA is 8-10 years for new FO? It’s seems like all regionals can provide quick upgrade or decent QOL/pay. Rarely both. Republic is done interviewing indefinitely. XJT has a crazy long upgrade. PDT has the worst contract from what I gathered from their forum. I live equidistance to EWR and PHL. If not psa, then where? Thanks!

PHL is currently fourth most junior out of the seven bases for FO’s. One should be able to hold PHL shortly after initial training. Reserve in PHL is running around 10 to 11 months from DOH presently.
Reserve at PSA is particularly onerous, but living one hour from base will substantially reduce the misery factor. Net paycheck amounts are subject to numerous variables but if you multiply the first year hourly rate by 75, you’ll end up in the ballpark for gross pay.
Flow to AA is at least 8 or 9 years for a new hire, but again, subject to several variables such as attrition outside the flow as well as any possible future changes to the rate of flow itself.
You’ll upgrade at PSA pretty much as soon as you reach 1,000 hours 121 time or shortly thereafter. Don’t really see that changing anytime soon. My understanding is that they have very recently exhausted the pool of FO’s who can be “forced” to upgrade, so going forward it’s just a matter of people attaining the 1,000 hours.
QOL as a lineholder at PSA is quite tolerable and some might even say pleasant due largely in part to the SAP. Having said that, PBS will probably be coming and how that interplays with SAP and the language governing PBS won’t be known for some time.
