Shifted 800 hours from IAD to IAH. 175 is on the way there and training is starting for IAD pilots. So, while IAH increased flying, in the aggregate, United anyways, it’s pretty much the same.

Cool. Don't get me wrong, truly happy for y'all. Just reinforcing the fact that we are the only airline to not make a TEMPORARY deal to mitigate furloughs. So while everyone else is able to take whatever opportunity is given to them our reserve grids will be perma-red soon. Meanwhile, the company did ask for PERMANENT contact concessions... Future candidates take notice.

The American Bar Association states:
In general, the duty of good faith and fair dealing means, for example, that parties cannot evade the spirit of the bargain, lack diligence or slack off, perform incorrectly on purpose, abuse their power when specifying the terms of a contract, or interfere with or fail to cooperate in the other party’s performance.
That being said, the decision to stay in contract with another party is very individual and time sensitive. Commanders are relieved because of loss of faith or confidence by the military institution. As a pilot group we can decide collectively or one can decide individually. I bet about 30 (Chris's numbers) people decided individually.
Pilots are as important to an airline as any other part of the company... to include management.
I realize at this point I am most likely preaching to the choir, so rant over.
Cheers!

How does one party execute a deal, either TEMPORARY or PERMANENT when the other party historically does not act in "Good Faith"?

Have your union reps communicated and represented your interests adequately? Forget the bs that they "volunteer". They recieve compensation for their time and expenses. They are bought off of trips by us, supposedly for company/union business, using our hard earned dues. They can't even be so bothered to hold a phone call or write an email giving explanation and detail of the situations we're facing and the direction the association is taking us. We've been in what might be the worst industry event in our entire careers and the MEC body is largely silent. While the chair is collecting a healthy paycheck at home, our lives are being turned upside down.
Voting is next month, don't make excuses, make your voice heard.

God no. I know you have no idea what really goes on but just... no. ALPA, for all of its frustrations, inefficiencies, whatever’s... Is way way better than APA.

My issue with ALPA has always been the fact that our representatives actively refuse to communicate with us, then turn around and get salty when we don't all sing their praises for what hard work volunteering is.

I don't think any of us have a problem with ALPA in general. I have friends at Spirit and their ALPA leadership is giving them monthly updates on what's going on and what to expect.
