International travel is still totally jacked up from the boneheaded response to COVID. I have friends in the EU who recently had to do backflips through hula hoops in order to fly here. Whenever normalcy is restored I’m sure hiring will really accelerate.

Since I proposed it… the whole industry has a big labor problem. The hiring demands from the majors, broadly defined, will likely cause multiple regionals to cease operations in 2022.
AA is up against a wall both in terms of staffing regional feed and hiring enough pilots for mainline. Bringing the WO pilots to mainline would solve both problems. Very expensively but it would do it.
