Probably no class dates for 2024.

Is this the rumor or a guess?

PSA is currently overstaffed and there is virtually no attrition other than failures in new hire training right now. No one is hiring and likely won't for at least the rest of 2024 and well into 2025.

Combine this with several hundred pilots far more qualified than PSA pilots that are entering the job market. Military pilots, for one, but also the involuntarily displaced (FedEx, Spirit, JetBlue, etc...). These will be the first ones hired once things start back up again, not regional pilots.

The big wave has past and we are left with the downturn on the backside. There will be a few more swells after this, but it won't be like this big wave again.

So with PSA announcing voluntary leaves of absences, I would assume that classes will be paused but it seems as if hiring is continuing as normal. Are these voluntary LOA's directed to captians?

I am a mil guy waiting on a 12 Aug class date. Hoping that it does not get cancelled or kicked down the road further. Anyone else in an August class have any insight? Last I spoke to the training department they said that they have not been told of class cancellations

First I heard of those airlines displacing their pilots to a regional.. did I miss something? I saw NK was furloughing a few FO, but never heard that Fedex and B6 were going to displace pilots?

He’s being disingenuous. At B6 they are displacing pilots, but that’s because the E190s are being retired over the next year. Quite a few of the junior captains on the RJ have as little as 18-24 months on property, so they obviously can’t hold bus captain and are getting kicked back to the right seat of the A220/A320. None of those pilots are going to leave and start over at a regional lol

Hello. Any truth to all training being moved to CLT as of this month?
