I'm surprised they can get that many people to go there.

I think the most junior captain is around Dec 2007/ Jan 2008. That puts us at 6 year plus upgrade time. But since we haven't hired anyone for 2.5 years after that, the upgrade will fall to 3 years in the next few months. Talk about timing...

The 12 every two weeks are captain upgrade classes. New hires classes are 25 every two weeks and about to be upped to 30.

Right now the most junior CA's are from the Dec '07 time frame. They have just started getting into the '08 classes. I'm not sure how they plan on ramping up on new hires and captain upgrades. We have a way to go before we are even close to breaking even on either side. They have already downsized one CA upgrade class.

To answer your original question I think at this point you would not get offered the next class. They seem to be pretty full. When I interviewed in '07 I had to wait almost three months for a class. But there is always the possibility of someone backing out. But get started sooner so you can get better seniority

PSA has taken delivery of ZERO new airplanes and they can't staff the -200/-700's they have now.

Food for thought. If I had a little brother who wanted to be an airline pilot he would be anywhere but that Pathetic Sucky Airline.

The information on aviationinterviews.com seems to be detailed and updated regularly. The information there comes from interview candidates and seems to contradict the naysayers here. PSA doesn't appear to have a problem filling classes. Apparently, they have contract instruction (flight safety, etc.) set up to handle any training backlogs, "IF NEEDED". Apparently, new hires go to ABC city to get trained....upgrades go to XYZ city to get trained. Just some FYI, good luck....

They aren't even slated to start taking deliveries until June..The first one is already done and being inspected in YUL. The second one will be completed next month.
