Wow..we got a real tough guy over here. Anybody saying this hiding behind the anonymity of a screen name just doesn't have it in them to deny someone face to face. I'm sure you'll have the gate agent do the dirty work. .

If filling classes becomes an issue, I suspect it won't happen until early 2015, which most of the hiring for the 900s will be done by that point. I've jumpseated on plenty of Eagle flights lately, not a problem. The denying of the jump seat talk is just that, talk.

I think that the majority of pilots don't even pay attention to these forums, let alone to some of the non-sense in them.

When picking a jumpseat war, in cases of David and Goliath (PSA & Envoy) in these cases David doesn't do so well.

Seriously, jumpseat wars are what your management wants. They want you fighting each other instead of them. Yes, PSA screwed up. You can continue fighting over scraps from the masters table, or get together, act as one, and demand a seat at the table too.

Smarten up.

.

RJ Pilot not only would I let you on the jump seat, which I actually have control over unlike you, I would get you a box of cookies, and other refreshments, and then proceed to educate my captive audience. I don't hate Eagle pilots, I just get a lot of amusement out of the less intelligent, bitter, and entitled ones that can't do simple math a lack a basic understanding of airline contracts that post here over and over like foaming at the mouth zombies with a colossal stack of nonsense talking points that were imagineered in some sad and dark recess of their minds.

Why? Does the Envoy guy have too much self respect for you to handle? Does he raise the integrity level in your Cockroach pit too high? I can actually make that call too PSA man.

WarpSpeed 05-10-2014 08:39 AM

And I'm not an Envoy pilot just one who knows what we're worth...

You wish...your comment is as stupid as the justifications PSA pilots give for lowering the bar for everybody.

Nope I respect myself just fine, after all I voted no. All the sh:t talk on here and smart radio comments is why you're off my jumpseat eagle man. You think you guys are going to be turning PSA (no voters too) away while I smile and offer you a bottle of water? Get real. Btw I have never even once been on eagle or AA.

John2375 05-10-2014 02:11 PM

denying jumpseats

First of all, I seriously doubt it ever actually happens - seems more like "internet tough guys" who are "so much cooler online"
BUT…
serious question: let's say it does. What does that do? What point does that prove?
It's like somebody not taking a job at an airline they feel is bad for the industry. What does it do?? NOTHING. Because there's 100+ guys MORE than happy to take that seat you just refused to take "for the good of the industry"

It just reassures some confidence for the guys who are doing the jumpseat denial, as they are trying to compensate for a lack of even average sized genitalia.

skyxbomb 05-11-2014 08:58 PM

I jumpseat just fine on eagle flights. And I always treat OAL pilots on our jumpseat with courtesy and respect, including a handful of AE pilots in the past few months. If the couple of you knuckle heads want to mess this up for everybody then have fun.

Just so everyone knows, PSA just upped the NH classes to 30 every other Monday. Not a single no show yet this year. Current PSA Pilots now get a $1000 referral bonus for recommending a new hire. Come to PSA and the first day of class refer 10 of your friends and make $10K.............. :)
Companies offer bonus money only when the heard is thinning. Thanks for the intel, it confirms the projection rumors I heard that your current hiring rate is unsustainable beyond summer/fall.
Music stops completely soon. Nobody coming in behind you, no quick upgrade like they're promising.

What happened to the "lose the regional infighting" mantra?

Stay classy.

How can the airline project that far in advance? They normally don't plan for next month let alone half a year.

I thought you'd been in this business a long time?

Where are you at on the Geezer-Meter? 65 yet?

There's no bonus. It's just an internal referral bonus, almost everywhere has it.

We are only about 200 short of where the company said they want to be size wise. That would jive up with the numbers decreasing around the fall.

No "upper tier" regional has a refferal bonus... Don't kid yourself, PSA isn't viewed favorably by industry pilots.

Also Eagle has a 5k singing bonus....Who exactly is "upper tier"?

Whiskey has no fleet plan, in a couple years they may even die on the vine, eagle is shrinking and losing airframes in a large part due to PSA's back stabbing ways... Way to hold the line boys, bravo!

Upper tier would be Horizon, Compass, SkyWest/ExpressJet pretty much everyone is "upper tier" compared to PSA...

How backed up is Sim in Cincinnati? How long after training can you get into the Sim?

My class had half go to Sim about 5 days after ground school. Other half about 2.5 weeks.

seafeye 05-21-2014 11:14 AM

Is IOE a long wait as well?

Systemized 05-21-2014 12:06 PM

PSA and other regional class dates

PSA doesn't have enough Sim time or IOE check airman available. Adding to that, some new hires are needing extra sims and extra IOE time. New hire pass rate is around 60%.

d5pilot 05-21-2014 01:32 PM

I know its a little of topic but I saw a story about PSA taking delivery of a new CRJ900 with an American Eagle paint job. Whats that about?

American Eagle is a brand name now like US Airways Express is. All regionals will fly under this brand, hence why Eagle had to change their name to Envoy.

Upgrades times are dropping quick and new hires are getting lines out of training. The company it still running understaffed and guys/gals are continuing to credit 100+ hours every month without trying while still having at least 11-16 days off.

Filler.

This year its PSA, next year it'll be another pilot group that everyone hates, and another one the year after that...

Not that I'm condoning making any deals with regional management in this climate, its just that all this PSA bashing gets old. I get it, its the "cool" thing to do.

Move on...

You must be a PSA pilot. So who will we all hate next? Seems like everyone but PSA has said NO to concessions. There aren't that many other airlines out there to be asked to take a similar deal. There's a legitimate reason why everyone is angry with PSA.

I understand your frustration, I really do. When I was doing the 121 regional thing (Piedmont - the suckiest of the suck), I had a lot of pointless hatred and animosity towards other pilot groups too. Having been Part 135 for a couple years now, I've had a chance to look back and realize how ridiculous and childish I was being. Nothing against you, hell, I don't even know ya! I just think one of these days most of us will look back and be like, "eh, I guess it wasn't that big of a deal".

I don't know, maybe its the Rolling Rock typing, but is PSA's "new" contract REALLY that bad...? Compared to what I'm used to, PDT, its not that bad at all. Ok, I will say the pay caps blow, but other than that?
