Pretty sure their new contract says yr 1-2 pay is the same on bro and crj. No one is too good to fly a turboprop, they're more fun than jets!

So, back to the original question. Does anyone know if this is an interview for a class date?

Thanks for the reply. But, there are 3184 pilots at skywest, that's a turboprop not a jet, that pay is lower than psa pay, skywest doesn't have a union and a ten year contract. All due respect, sounds like apples to oranges.
PSA pay is higher, on what planet? SkyWest has multiple long term contracts with multiple major partners. Guess all your sham posts mean recruiting isn't going all that well for ya at PSA? |
Sooooo you do or do not have the specific answer my very simple question?

PSA FOs top out at $41/hour and Skywest FOs top out at $49/hour. PSA Captains top out at $99/hour and Skywest captains top out at $115/hour. It took me 15 seconds of looking around this website to figure that out so I'm not sure why you'd post a blatant lie. There are negative things about Skywest but the pay is most definitely not one of them. The pay scale is very good for a regional.

No offense, but I need to get some jet time.
You don't 'need' jet time. You just think you're too cool to fly a turboprop. |

That's just simply untrue. Year 2 turboprop pay at Skywest is $37.15/hour which is more than the $34/hour APC lists 2nd year PSA jet pay at.

What exactly do you need "jet" time for that "turbine" time won't cover? Plenty of Brasilia captains I've flown with have gone to the majors and Brasilia FOs have gone to LCCs. There are a bunch of current Brasilia captains with United class dates. My Brasilia IOE instructor is now at United. My sim partner for my last time through recurrent is now at US Airways. One person left my Brasilia -> RJ transition class mid-class to take a class date with JetBlue before ever having flown the RJ. You don't 'need' jet time. You just think you're too cool to fly a turboprop. BTW i think he is using "fojared" recruiting strategy. |

From someone with about equal time in props and jets, I've never understood that "turboprops are more fun than jets" sentiment. It's simply not true. I'm glad I flew them (for maybe 7000 hours), but I don't wish to return to them. Sorry.

I'd say as an airplane I enjoy flying the jet more, but I do miss the overnights and the crews from the truboprop some days. |
