If I can't hold CLT right away, would TYS or DAY be an easier commute from JAX?

Most of the new hires are previous 121 or military. The attrition rate of the new FO's is pretty high and this will continue. There seem to be as many FO's going to majors/LLC as there are senior guys. I know that everyone says that the fast upgrades are over, but it is not the case yet. They will end, but the guys in the next several classes are certainly looking at upgrades of less than 2 years. Expect attrition to be 20+ a month starting this spring. That coupled with the 30 new pilots needed a month with 3 new airplanes arriving, there will be plenty of movement.
Once awarded a transfer, how long does it take to actually occur? Is it the next month? |

If you live in DFW I would seriously consider going to Envoy instead of commuting to CLT (Unless PSA announces DFW to be a new base). Both places will get you to AA and both will have a ton of movement in the next few years so you might as well avoid commuting.
For the time being I'm going to stick it out with PSA. If I absolutely hate the commute then I'll reevaluate in six months. Hopefully by then I will have the seniority to hold a commutable line in CLT. |
I read in the contract that if a trip starts with a deadhead, you can ask to be deadheaded from a location other than your domicile. I undertsand that you will not be paid for the deadhead, nor will you reveive per diem.
Are there many trips that begin with a DH? Is this a viable strategy as a commuter? |
I'm sure the answer to this lies somewhere in the previous 1000 posts, but how is seniority in new hire classes determined?

Yelp, at 21, I think I will be at the bottom of that list for my class in March.

Sigh... Don't screw this up. You're in prime position to have a nice long 121 career and make far more money than I'll ever make. |
