What is the junior base at PSA and what are the reserve times?
|
I have been told by current pilots junior base is TYS and there is little to no reserve at TYS and DAY but a few months in CLT.

Whatever happened to the instructor/FO who had 170 hrs of sim and or IOE? Did that instructor ever get signed off? It use to be really bad -- the blind leading the blind. There was one who acted like he was an ol' salt and was teaching a lot of techniques, not procedures. Turns out Ace had less than 100 hrs of FO time. I sure hope that dept got squared away.

Upgrade numbers you're seeing on here are true that day. We had a long time where people with 1000 hours of 121 time who made lateral moves from other carriers were going very quickly, in the neighborhood of 6 months or maybe a little more. I think this is going to change as some of the guys who are new to 121 are starting to get their 1000. So far, this place has just been a much bigger version of the turd that it has always been, but that's not really a surprise. The SSP numbers will improve greatly once the single operating certificate is in place (I hear 10% a year as a base number) and it's not like American is the only place hiring. Take it for what it's worth: a place to get your time and get out. Despite what the attitude on this forum seems to be, most people are pretty happy working here so don't put to much stock into all of this flame bait, but don't expect it to be a dream job either. |
< half way.
PSA is slated to have 150 airplanes by the end of 2017, if memory serves.
By my math, they now have about 67 - 70 airplanes on property,....... so they're not even half way to their end goal of being a 150 airplane airline. So if PSA is, in deed going to more than double over the next two years, I think upgrade times are going to remain ridiculously low, especially for those boys and girls with prior 121 SIC time. |

I was hired in October, and between 1/10 and 2/10 I moved up 20 numbers. |
