I don't think the quick upgrade has ended necessarily. It will continue to vary from those with less than a year at times to those with 2+ years of experience. Still a lot of airplanes coming and lots of new flying.

Let's hope not. The four year FO pay cap is gonna hurt

Regardless, pay will go up at some point at PSA.

I've noticed the seniority list steady at 1200 for over six months, recent class sizes of 5 and delayed deliveries might indicate the growth is over. The seniority list is probably fat enough to add another 6 or so planes and after that 700/900s can probably only be added as 200 replacements without real growth well above 1200 from the seniority list.

You didn't listen to the conference call then. MEC Chair met with Flannery recently and the delivery schedule hasn't changed. The upgrade rate is still going to be pretty steady. The reason for only 5 in the last is cause of that massive class of 30 they just had. Word is February hiring is looking great surprisingly. Also, the rumor of parking 200s is completely false right now, and we have enough pilots right now to take in a good bit of aircraft and not be short staffed to be point of parking planes. Growth isn't close to over yet. But the growth will be entirely dependent on management and how they plan to increase QOL and attract new hires.

I think some of you guys are paranoid. The company plans to take on some 70 lines worth of flying out of Chicago in the Spring and they want to staff it with 200's. Put 2 and 2 together I think we know where the next base is ending up. Making more efficient schedules will help a lot with staffing issues. American will have no problem influencing our management to fix that problem when the time comes.

Was that mentioned during the conference call?..I missed it

No it came from someone in management I know. That's apparently the plan they're working on right now, but of course like everything it's not a for sure thing until it gets posted on the psa facebook page.

Ok thanks

I have a seniority list dated June 2015, it shows 1197 total pilots. The seniority list dated January 2016, shows 1195 pilots. In June, of the 1197 pilots on the list, there were 200+ new FOs still in training. Currently, there's less than 30 FOs still in training. I don't know where all these pilots are coming from that will help staff another 40+ aircraft when the last new hire class had 5. I want the company to grow so the flow increases, but I highly doubt that's going to happen.

Every airline shares that same problem. No airline is going to flow themselves out of business though either. I would expect some consolidation in the contract airline industry in 2016.

Gold you were such a PSA poster boy a few months ago. What's happened? The shiny plane smell going away?
