Did I say that? No, I didn't. The man lives in Atlanta and doesn't have to commute if he doesn't want to. I was also just saying that it is very difficult to commute to or from so if they have the opportunity to avoid commuting, they should. But by all means, be a fry cook and troll on.

Why commute when you can be based in ATL with endeavor. It's expected to go quite junior on the first officer side and the more I dig into it, Junior captain as well. I keep hearing not a lot of old guys wanna take the bait there and switch to the 200.

Confuses says, "Avoid any airline headquartered in Saint Louis!"
Experienced Captains Say, "I had a son who worked hard to get all his ratings to become a pilot. Then one day the son was visited by a recruiter for a Saint Louis airline who told the new pilot, "In this economy you have 2 choices, come to our airline or join a gang. I told the recruiter that my son was an intelligent man of integrity who always does the right thing. I then started helping him get on with a good gang."

I've also heard this from my ASA friends who are jumping over to them. We cross-train, which still amazes me, on all variants. I've heard once you get use to the 7/9 you don't want to go over to the 200.

If you are aiming for a guaranteed slot at AA, then you have to consider PDT, PSA or ENY. Assuming you flow in 6-8 years, you will have a few years with AA as an FO. No sure if 3-4 years there would be worth the while for QOL or pay. While upgrades are quicker at PDT, PSA and ENV in that order, you will have to commute your entire career. ATL appears to be a tough commute.
If the legacy option is not as important to you then I would consider ENDV with ATL base and no commute. Upgrade in 2 years or less and 10 years as Captain. Also a chance to interview with DAL with no guarantee.

Commutable from ATL is the initial plan (may relocate later). Yes & no on flow. If I go short, then the flow is obviously a concern. But unfortunately I've seen where that planned short term stay can become very permanent. Regaining QOL is probably a bigger desire. I have the time to be a left seat hire, but that doesn't mean it would make sense because of greater impact to QOL. No huge preference on equipment.

If you now live in ATL, or are moving there soon, Endeavor without a doubt. At your age, I would put about zero value on either an AA flow or the DL DGI. Piedmont would be my second choice as a company, but cannot speak as to the commute to one of their bases from ATL.

I'm moving soon, pretty much 100% to ATL area. I wouldn't mind Endeavor, then move to Delta, obviously. But if it was SWA, United, etc...is it going to be that Terrible a commute? Or are you speaking more as a regional airline commuter?
That's all I'm asking.

I'm really not trolling. I admit I messed up my timing on apps and did them too late. I'm interviewing with Endeavor, but I do hope to move to a Major before long. I have the qualifications, but like I said, waited late on the apps.

ATL commute shouldn't be too awful if you fly for a major other than DAL. Any big major would have flights to ATL, and you would have priority over the DAL nonrevs. DAL could be a backup option, although not a great one.
