Default CAL hiring XJT guys

I noticed on the XJT page of this site that it says CAL is hiring 30+ XJT guys every month. XJT guys, is this true?

i talked to some CAL guys and they say 30 per month from XJT seems a bit on the high end, but its possible since theyre training guys like crazy. xjt guys are not blacklisted from cal like AE guys from AA and Comair guys from DAL

A realistic number based on the last breakdown I saw was about 8-10 a month.

ok maybe blacklisted is a harsh word. AA doesnt hire from AE not so much out of hatred (although theres probably a lot of AA guys that hate AE), but because the company itself thinks its inefficient to do so, to pull one guy out of one of your holdings and retrain him into another.

Delta blacklisting comair, however, is a different story. Thats based on pure hatred

Going to Eagle was a kiss of death to AA for awhile, but I do know guys who were hired from Eagle to AA outside of the flowthrough.

...but if you leave AE, they're replacing you with a 1st-year-pay guy...so they'd be saving them money by not keeping you, a 10yr-captain, in that seat (10yrs is an arbitrary number)...and AA is going to have to train somebody either way...and isn't that what flow-through is for?...but I guess you can go around and around with that one...plus its kind of a moot point when it comes to AA

I think this was true up until 9/11, but now AMR can see what happens when it doesnt take people from AE. We wind up with 1000 CAs who are near max pay on our payscales, causing our labor costs to skyrocket. Now the queston is will they learn from this lesson? We will see when they start hiring in a few years.

Call me naive, but why is there the animosity between Comair and Delta pilots?
