Default Compass Airlines

We have heard about this Compass Airline supposedly starting up. I went to their site and it even says they are hiring, but there are no payscales listed and no one seems to know anything about them.

Has anyone on here been able to find out any information about them. Pay, Days off, bases, when they will start hiring and what about the work rules since there is no established contract?

From my sources:

Interviews for off the street applicants will begin the last week of March, for class dates beginning in May. New hire classes are expected to be held weekly or every other week, depending on training capacity.

The final details of the contract are being negotiated right now. Pay rates have been established, as have many of the work rules. There is a negotiated flow through agreement with NWA mainline (Flow up to available FO positions after serving 2 years as a line captain). Pilot group will be represented by ALPA.

Bases will be MSP to start with potential future growth into MEM and DTW. The headquarters is in IAD (south of the airport), however IAD will not be a pilot/crew domicile.

Payscales:

They've already had at least 1 new hire class, training currently going on for the CRJ (for now).

On their website and on a Climb350 post they are asking for 1,000 ME. Could be a great opportunity if you have the time.

I've heard that they have a stack of resumes from former IDE pilots (mostly FOs that went to other regionals). I imagine that a lot of those guys/gals will be some of the first rounds of calls since just about everybody at Compass is former Independence.

I'd say that right now, competitive mins are probably 2500-3000TT, 1000ME, 500 PIC (preferably turbine). The higher mins are being driven by the need to hire people that have the time/experience necessary to successfully upgrade in a very short time frame. (But those numbers are total shots in the dark).

Haven't been able to confirm it, but I have heard that they may be planning to type rate the first classes new hires from day one so that they can do IOE, get some experience in type, and then take a short course checkride for PIC signoffs/dual qualifications. All second hand knowledge, but it would make sense for the first 3-6+ months of deliveries.

What is the schedule as far as new A/c arrivals anyway? Then I might have a chance with 4000TT and almost 2000 T-PIC then right Well, I guess I will just keep the fingers crossed. It is hard to get your stuff walked in somewhere new since no one is there to do it for you!

They look like a pretty typical regional. The only attraction I see would be the flow through, if you want to work at NWA in the long run. Keep in mind that flow-through argreements in general have a, shall we say, less than spectacular success rate. May the force be with you...

It's kind of funny how people bash Skywest then apply at Compass for about the same payscales we fly the 50 seaters for... and yes the 7 and 9 at skywest.
