Default Going Back to the Flight Deck

I left ExpressJet 4.5 years ago to work in Finance at a major airline. When I left, there was still a lot of industry stagnation, and pay was much lower than where it is now. I have been successful in my career thus far, but am strongly considering going back to the regionals to get 121 current, and hopefully upgrade to captain in the near term. I have realized that I have hit the glass ceiling in my current position, as all of my bosses are chief pilots of some capacity, and if I want their job someday - I will need to be on the seniority list first.

I have an ATP with ~2,000tt, and ~1,200 turbine. Despite being GA current, I have started getting calls from regionals for interviews, and am looking for information on growth vs attrition.

My wife has a good job, and we are not interested in leaving DFW, and although salary is very important - we have been saving in the event that I returned to the flight deck to help make the first couple years more palatable.

Finally, as I do not need an ATP-CTP, is there any use in trying to negotiating that cost as an additional singing bonus?

Envoy - Of course a good choice, and right down the road from me. The only reason I would go somewhere else is I don't think I could hold DFW for a while, and might as well commute to a place that has a quicker upgrade.

Endeavor - Looks like a very fast upgrade, and my in laws live close to ATL for when on reserve

TSA - Quick upgrade too.

Republic - My parents live in Indy, so this is a good option while on reserve.

Skywest - Would love to work there and the flying looks neat, but it would be a long commute, and have a longer upgrade.

Compass - Very similar to Skywest as far as my concerns are.

Any help or insight would be appreciated!

Thank you!

I'm a CA at Skywest. The upgrade time here has dropped significantly and you, with the turbine 121 time would be a quick upgrade, but it would be in DTW or ORD.
I can't speak for all the airlines you mentioned, but for your situation I would personally chose Envoy. Live in domicile and get a big bonus. Also they have the flow which isn't a bad backup either. The only thing you may want to ask them about is if DFW is a base for all their aircraft since I don't know that information.
