A little over a year at L-Xjet and I can fly mostly 1 and 2 day trips if I want. It just requires some work and aggressive swapping. I have no 4 day trips this month, just 2 3day trips and the rest 1 and 2 day. The downside is that you tend to not be able to credit as many hours and you'll lose out on some perdiem. That may or may not matter to you.

As an FO you can probably work your schedule where you are home most nights. But, outside of going to an airline that doesn't do overnights at some point in your career (as a captain or once you go to a major). You're going to have to do a significant amount of traveling and overnights. 121 flying may not be for you. Have you considered air ambulance or other 135 gigs? Those are probably your best bet!

And Island Air. They both pay pretty good for a regional as well.

Pay is lousy if you factor in Cost of Living!

I dunno...LA, SEA, SFO... all the big cities are pricey IMO. I'm a native of SEA and wanted to be domiciled there until recently when I visited family: cost of housing has doubled in the last 2 years, and the traffic is worse than SoCal...

I get the traffic part is worse than SoCal during rush hour SEA but you can't sit here and tell me it's still more expensive than Hawaii! If you took Island Air or Ohana and wanted to be home every night you'd have to live on Oahu. Have you tried to buy/rent a house their? On top of that have you tried buying groceries at the store and look at the bill? $8 for a gallon of milk. Sure when you're not flying you can't beat the QOL or when winter comes around you can't beat it. BUT, having been born and raised in Hawaii and now experienced mainland life from living in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, Texas, Minnesota, Dakotas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee, there's so much more to offer as far as QOL! Just my 2 cents

No 'rush hour' in SEA anymore - the traffic is bad ALL the time...

This probably isn't the job to have if you want to be home every night. I suggest you get the experience you need as quickly as possible, and get on with Allegiant, and find your way to a base that makes you happy, asap. Other than Allegiant, you may find that Corporate at the right company will offer what you want. Problem with corporate is that it is entirely hit and miss, and can run the entire gambit from awesome to hell.
