Default Skywest Hiring

What are the times that people are getting hired at? Where can a new hire expect to be initially based?

I don't know about the times.

FAT is the most junior base for the EMB, I don't know what is 2nd.

ORD, MKE, SLC, DEN are junior bases on the jet and I think you can count on any one of those if you are senior in your class.

My guess, hopefully someone who has been through recently can comment.

Anywhere from 1000/100 to 5000+ turbine PIC.

Sorry if it doesn't help, but it's the truth. Remember, hours are not everything, especially at SKW. I've seen people with 5000hrs turbine PIC being turned down.

However, I believe a min of 1500TT would be beneficial, as would any 121 multi-crew time (in an IFR environment) simply because you'd be closer to their upgrade mins. Since they are hurting for captains, some speculate that they are trying to stay away from 1000/100 guys.

i got hired with 1000TT. theyll give you an interview with 1000, and as long as you do ok in the interview (and dont screw up the sim), im willing to bet that youll be hired pretty quickly.

most junior guys in my class got COS, most senior got DEN. no ORD was awarded at all. the majority got SLC.

Follow up question: I have 6000TT 600 Turbine PIC and 1900 Turbine SIC. The Turbine PIC is in a 737. Does anyone think that being it was in a 737 might pose a problem. As in them thinking that I would be hiring in for more PIC then jumping to a major. Which isn't the case.

I was hired with 3800 and change about 1000 multi. Most of the group I interviewed with were in the 1150 to 1300 hour range with over 100 multi, and one military C-130 guy. They made it clear to us back in January, that 1000/100 was the absolute min time they would invite you in for an interview. I was put in the EMB-120 starting in April. Good luck to you!

P.S. Can anyone tell me when do you find out your base in ground school? Thanks in advance!
