I assume that since Mesaba does not have the ATP Written as an application requirement, it would give you a better chance of being hired if you did have it taken or does it even matter at all?

I doubt it. But, don't let that stop you from studying for it. I think it would help during flight training though. Again, good sim skills (don't get confused), and a great, positive attitude. That should do it for ya. Snob arrogence will not. Trying to impress with B.S. won't either.

I recommend getting your ATP, besides once you are in a 121 job it won't expire after two years. It's one more thing to put on the table to show how much you want the job.

Thought I'd come back with a follow-up...

Interviewed last Wed., got the call yesterday morning. All the people I met seemed cool, there were no surprises. All the info given by people like RJ85FO was right on (and it makes me wonder if i met him/her during the process). Guess I'll never know.

The only new information from the day that I haven't seen anywhere on here yet, is that Dave Wilson said CRJs #5 through ~24 will be going to DTW.

Guess I'll be swimming for a month or two. Anybody know if there's a method to picking people out of the pool? First in/first out, interview performance, whoever had the best looking eyes/neatest hair?

Let's hope for your sake it's not the latter method, considering you're bald and your eyes take up 90% of your face...go eat something :-D

What training dates were you offered? I am interviewing next week and trying to plan ahead.

Nobody was actually offered training dates. That's why I'm in the pool...

April 23rd and June 4th were the tentative class dates mentioned. When they called me back after the interview, they said probably June.

Pointers? Well read everything that's been said by others on here, and the last couple gouges, and there will be no surprises. Seriously. The tech q's were about my most recent twin. If you have two hours of King Air time, they'd probably ask about that too, as he looked at every single page in the logbook. (I don't have anything like that, I'm just sayin')

Time? More than the new mins, less than the old mins. Currently a CFI.

I may be balding, but I tend to think my eyes are proportionate to my face... maybe you should eat less, Mr. Fatty McFatsalot. Besides, I hear chicks like bald guys... though it hasn't caused them to knock down my door, yet.
