You're ****ed because you didn't get called for an interview? Geez. Wake up man! Do they owe you anything? I am gonna drive to STL and give it a shot, even if I don't meet their minimum requirement.

Well, had an interview scheduled for Friday the 16th then got a call a couple nights ago from Stig saying they were having the open house in St. Louis if that would be easier. Well, the fact that the open house won't have a sim i'd say it's the safer bet!

I am not saying they owe anyone anything. I am not ****ed. I love how people blow stuff up on this website.
Good luck on your interview Qtip. |
I would say that if you applied and didn't get a response, apply again. That is what happened to me and they called me two days after I applied the second time.
There are some guys here with some really low time. I know of a really low time guy that was hired (about 400 hours) but he bought a 1900 type to get the interview. I have lower than their posted mins, but I knew two people that were in class at the time of my interview. Don't know if that helped a lot or not. Most of the FO new hires have more than the posted mins. Ground school isn't bad. Big Sky is in a period of fast growth and it shows in a few different ways. IOE seems to be taking longer than expected for the class in front of me, partly because of a lack of planes and check airmen. The instruction is good, but it seems that the instructors are under a bit of pressure. They know that they will be teaching ground school nonstop for the next few months because one starts right when the other is over. The company seems good from what I know about it. There is a new contract in the mix and it looks like they will be more commuter friendly. |
Do you guys to trips or are you like us at Colgan and no trips- home everynight?

There is talk about getting a bigger plane, but it is just talk at the moment. I have heard that DH8 is the first one on the list. They, believe it or not, they are including pay for even larger planes on the new contract. I think that the DH8 is possible, but won't happen for a while. I don't expect to see anything bigger than that for a looooong time, if ever. Don't think that I am a Big Sky expert. I am not at all. I am just in ground school. I just call things as I see them. From the schedules that I have seen for Boston, don't expect to be home when on duty. Sorry about the mix up earlier in the thread. Knew it was one of the "connections" out of BOS. As for bigger aircraft, the whole thing is tied up right now in the courts. Big Sky probably has no chance of seeing anything soon since even if MAIR decides to throw out the scope LOA, the Mesaba MEC would immediately apply for (and probably receive) an injunction. The court battle could take a year or more... Of course if Big Sky is sold off, that would change the circumstances. |

What if Mesaba is sold off? Mesaba is sold to NWA from what I read. That would void the scope one would think. I have heard that their new contract contains payrates for large cargo jets, large as in MD-11's, 747, A300, 767 etc. Someone must be optimistic that the scope will go away. |

Sweet... Maybe sometime you'll be taking me to my parents house.... Good ole' MWA.
Does this mean that Lake will get a STL base? What about Big Sky?
