Piedmont delayed our ground training class for a week so whoever was affected could handle their stuff.

Going to apply to PDT today, not sure if their selection of bases will work for me but seems like a good option to have in choosing a regional.

Your choices are PHL and PHL. Aircraft choice is 145. Nothing else is being offered at the moment.

I'm a little late to this thread. Endeavor helped out the Florida guys big time. It was no issue getting the time off and they were willing to pay out sick time during personal leave. The nice thing is....it didnt count as a sick call. Also offered positive space home, as well as emails regarding Delta offering their birds for employee evacuations.
Of course you would only get on after all DL employees but it was still a nice option.

QUOTE=FlyinRyan95B;2433681]I'm flying a Hawker 800 for a 135 operation and getting ready to start interviewing for regionals, trying to make sure I don't jump from the frying pan into the fire. Wondering for all you Florida based crews, how did your company treat you after hurricane Irma? My company wanted me back at work on tuesday, the day after the storm, then last minute I ended up going back on wednesday, till friday. IMO this was BS, I had a tree on my travel trailer that I live in, no power, and concerned about looters where I live out in the sticks west of Orlando. How was this handled by 121 operators?[/QUOTE]

Just accepted an offer from Silver Airways, feel like I haven't talked to enough people about them or done enough research but not having to commute is a huge advantage to me living in FL - hopefully it works out =)
After putting in my two week notice , the email went unreplied to for over 24 hours until I sent a second email... pretty much sums up the entire experience with that operator.

You chose poorly... There is plenty of info on here about all of the options you have before you. In this hiring environment and with the type of money and quality of life offered by so many places I can't for the life of me understand why someone would go to Silver. You just said yourself that you didn't read or do much research about them. Take some responsibility for your career and yourself and go to a regional you deserve to be at. Not Silver. There is a reason Captains from Silver come to other regionals to start over as FOs. And there is a reason people who fail out of other 121 regional training programs end up at Silver. It isn't because it's the best place to be, I'll just put it that way.

Delta provided paid time off for employees needing to drop trips and additional time off if they had property damage. They flew charter flights to evacuate employees and families both out of the storm areas and back after the storm had passed.

Ay Republic we flew crews and families out before the storm and put them up. Once the storm passed they offered all Public Space flights to get everyone home. If time off was needed it was given. One of my fellow classmates in the New Hire class went home for 3 days to get thing straightened at his house.

I was lucky and only had damage done to things in storage.

Good luck with Silver, heck even Envoy has a MIA base along with us now. The point is that there are more options available.

PS: I came from corporate world of Flying Hawkers. If you want to talk about experiences or companies please do not hesitate to PM me here.
