I looked at Liberty but their closest affiliate flight school is about 90 minutes away with no traffic.
I don’t think you can qualify for federal loans if you already have a bachelor’s degree unless it’s for a masters program. As far as I know, once you have a degree you’re on your own. The more financial aid may be school specific. My school allowed me to have additional funds through the federal Perkins loan, not the Stafford. It is need based. I was told that because the program was more expensive than the normal program, I qualified for the additional funds.

Thanks, I wasn’t aware of the limitation on one bachelor’s degree.

I would still check into it. It seems as though there could be different scenarios on what determines eligibility. Couldn’t hurt to fill out a FAFSA and see.

I have my BS and Master's, went to use my GI Bill for flight training and filled out the FAFSA just in case I went over the annual limit of the GI Bill. Don't remember my income that I had that prior year, but it was over $50k that was on the FAFSA. I qualified for about $5-7k in federal loans. No grants. Ended up not using it since the GI Bill covered what I needed.

$5-7k won't go very far in flight training at a university, but I apparently still qualified with a BS and Masters.
