Tips For Newbies
Hello Everyone,
Been lurking this site for a while but new new the 121 world, coming from an instructing and 135 background. In a few, albeit brief, conversations I've had with guys who have done the 121 thing for a while I've learned there's a lot of etiquette/ details to navigating airline life.
[EDITED FOR SECURITY]
In order to make the transition as painless as possible, would any seasoned 121 guys be willing to share tips on general dos and don'ts of airline operations? Not necessarily company specific stuff like bids since that will change from airline to airline, but more along the lines of etiquette, rules of the road, etc.
I'm sure this could fire some debates which is not my intention - please just remember I'm very green and trying to learn from the guys who have gone before me.
Input is appreciated!

This looks like a good thread that might have legs.
[EDITED FOR SECURITY]
But if simply riding on your pass travel privileges, then I think it’s good etiquette to not bother the flight crew. If (in the minuscule chance) they both start to pass out from food poisoning, they’ll be able to find you and you’ll be the next Sully.

Mod input
MOD INPUT: We take security very seriously on APC and err on the conservative side. We allow NO discussion of procedures related to JS or cockpit access, and that includes technique which could enable an imposter to pass himself off as crew. Please be diligent.
BTW, if you get caught posting SSI info on the internet you will be 100% fired, lose SIDA access, and might be subject to federal charges.
