Anyone else going to Cincinnati this weekend? I read on their website that they are going there to recruit more pilots. I didn't make it to STL a couple of weeks ago. Did any one go there? What was it like? Did they hire anyone? Whats their actual minimums?

 

Looks like 750tt and 50me for FO's according to their website. I might go on Friday afternoon, looks like they are making my home town Cincy a domicile, that would be great.

 

Careful. This airline is reducing pay, scatterbrained, and has no plan to grow their business. They are an EAS carrier like MESA's Freedom and Great Lakes. (In fact I believe that BigSky even leased MESA airplanes. . . scary) Look at some posts that "Nick" has made regarding BigSky. I believe he is a CA there.

 

I love people that spout off without any real insight except what they read on these forums. I have heard of the reductions in pay, very curious as to the truth of that and the extent to what kind of reductions that would be. They did not lease MESA planes, they have a lease agreement in place with COMMUTAIR for 8 of their 1900's. The BOS domicile is opening June 8th with 8 NEW 1900's, seems like the CIN flying will be with the leased aircraft. And being that the BOS base is opening with the Delta codeshare I would say that quickly refutes their lack of a growth plan.

 

I love people who spout off too. Maybe you need to do some of your own research, and become more informed. And as far as BOS base with Delta. BigSky cannot find pilots. If they cannot staff their planes, there will be no flying. If there is no flying happening, what do you think DELTA will do?

As of December 31, 2005, we owned 35 Beechcraft 1900D aircraft and were operating 20 of these aircraft. The Company leases four of its Beechcraft 1900D to Gulfstream International Airlines, a regional turboprop air carrier based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and leases an additional ten Beechcraft 1900D aircraft to Big Sky Transportation Co., a regional turboprop carrier based in Billings, Montana (“Big Sky”).

Some of us, mccube5, actually do post truth, do research happenings, do report accurate insider information on airlines, pilots, contracts, rumors, etc. . . Some people do put their reputation on the line everyday, while there are others who are just critics that spout off in hopes of looking informed and educated.

We'll leave it at that.

I think they cannot airplanes elsewhere, thats why they are leasing from Mesa. Heck their getting 8 of Commutair's 1900's starting in July with the option for the remaining 4. When I went to their BOS job fair/interview they mentioned they where going to be doing BOS CVG SLC and LAX as DAL connection so they are going to need to get them from somewhere. JMO.

 

Big Sky has picked up CVG routes to EAS cities that formerly had STL feeds with Regions. CGI, OWB, and MKL. There may be others.

Ellen just wondering how you became such an expert on Big Sky to know what is going on over there? Just because "Nick" has made a few posts on here doesn't give the whole story as to how things are(one employee doesn't have all the answers). You can equate some of those posts to what you would get after you make a passenger mad at the gate....they are going to go tell the world how bad things are. Plus my take is this...if pilots don't want to be here there are a number of other regionals hiring that they can go to. Big Sky does have it's issues as we can see but there a large number of people that I know are working hard behind the scenes to make things better.

As far as growing the business, BOS is a start with Delta. I hear there are talks for them to go to other markets with Delta and CVG being one of them, hence the recruiting there. It will be interesting to watch what happens with Big Sky.
