Trying to commute for Envoy from PVD?

Why Envoy? Why not Endeavor, PSA, or Piedmont? Envoy, you will easily get LGA. Endeavor gives you NYC bases as well. PSA and Piedmont gives you both PHL and DCA.

Doesn't it take more than 1 flight to get to LGA? Is it the number of flights to a base or the length of the flight that sucks when commuting? Lol sorry I'm new to all this, just a CFI.

Both suck, but multiple legs suck the most. It’s a two leg commute to LGA from PVD. I agree, you should go to Piedmont or PSA if you want a AA wholly owned airline. You have lots of direct flights to the PHL base.

Theres a few PVD commuters at envoy that commute to ORD. As long as you get ORD you should be fine, I'm not sure what options there are to get to LGA or JFK unless you plan on driving.
edit: commuting sucks, if you're able to go somewhere with an east coast base with flights to/from pvd it would at least be easier to commute within the same time zone.

I drive from Rhode Island to LGA and JFK weekly. Without traffic it can be done in under 3 hours to LGA little further to JFK. Not short enough to sit reserve at home but its easily commutable on day of since your driving. you just need to avoid it at rush hour through Connecticut and your good. Best time is when you get off work late at night, can make it back to RI in 2 hours 30 minutes if you drive fast.

Absolutely drive to New York for the regional for now and then try to get to JetBlue as quickly as possible for the Boston base for an even shorter drive. Maybe American down the line they also have a Boston base. At this point the flow at an AA regional for a new hire may not be worth much due to the fact that likely by the time you flow the hiring wave could be over.
