You can, however, satisfy that requirement by logging "PIC Duties." Its an FAA approved way of fudging - i mean logging - PIC time without actually being the PIC. By definition, if you ask the Captain if you can run the flight and he/she approves, and you make all the decisions pertinent to the flight and then log it as PIC duties. Get 100 hours of that nonsense and youre good to go

you dont have 100 hrs cross contry pic? For the ATP isnt that just airport to airport? You didnt get that througout your flight training?
So if you ask the captain to be able to log PIC duties, do you just log PIC and make a note that it was "PIC duties" somewhere or how does that work

You're thinking of 135 xc... for ATP it has to be 50nm... but you don't have to land. (as far as i know)

A friend of mine who is leaving the military soon has been asking me about DEC opportunities in the regionals. All of his flight time is split between helicopters and light turboprops with plenty of pic time. Have all of the DECs that people are seeing had previous experience in the plane their hired into.. (Except maybe the 1900). Has anyone heard of an RJ DEC with no RJ time? (I would think not). Does anyone think the market is getting bad enough to see that soon?
