I think you meant what they are hiring at??The thread is about upgrade. Please tell me they aren't upgrading ppl before they can hold an ATP? That would be pretty worthless.

Sorry I was trying to be funny, maybe spread a rumor about Go Jets, I don't know. In all seriousness It says on apc that its 4000TT to upgrade.

So I am confused on something here... how do these real low timers get the PIC time to upgrade when they get hired with 500tt?

Well, the ATP only requires 250 PIC (61.159), then for ICAO they'll need a couple thousand SIC, and then if the company requires a certain amount of PIC I guess they'll have to rent a 152 or something.

That's the issue (not PIC specifically) at places like PCL, and that's why they a lot of people aren't able to upgrade when their number's up.

the hurdle you might be referring to is the 100 X-C PIC. Im going to fall under that when I upgrade, since have under 10 hours of it.

You can, however, satisfy that requirement by logging "PIC Duties." Its an FAA approved way of fudging - i mean logging - PIC time without actually being the PIC. By definition, if you ask the Captain if you can run the flight and he/she approves, and you make all the decisions pertinent to the flight and then log it as PIC duties. Get 100 hours of that nonsense and youre good to go
