affirmative, there will be no bypass, the company has agreed to accept voluntary vaction buy back at 120% to relieve the understaffing issues. The union has done an outstanding job at standing up to the company and their bs tactics.

i am a new guy here on the block at RAH, but from what i have learned thus far. This pilot group and union was kind of underrated, until now. This little fiasco from the company was answered with an awesome, thoughtful, and tactful response from the EXCO and the pilot group. Republicpilots.org made it really easy for a lot of pilots to fill out the necessary grievance paperwork quickly and get it to where it needed to go very quickly. When the company actually sat down to discuss this and saw that the union wouldnt back down. They tucked their tail and ran. It sent them a clear message that its time to get some stuff right in this upcoming contract. I hope everything works out and that the pilots here at RAH can set the bar for a modern regional airline CBA, one where the pilots have some leverage in this "shortage" and are not going to settle for less.

Glad to see something positive for the pilots for once! Hopefully this kind of thing and other rumors of positive things as well as AWAC winning our major grievance will be the beginning of some good things for pilots. What is good for one group is good for everyone, at least when it comes to contractual improvements.
Hopefully this race to the bottom is over!
