You make a VERY compelling argument. As a resident of Houston, I come into contact with the occasional NASA engineer.......and while they are usually BRILLIANT......I wouldn’t always describe them as “professional”. Peculiar....eccentric.....weird......socially challenged.....yep. In all honesty, when it comes to ties, I think they are silly and outdated, but our uniform looks terrible without them.

We should buddy bid. I've just been tying off to the door knob. I could use a helping hand. One time I forgot the dead bolt, and came to with the fa taking pictures through the open door.

The public is oblivious, only other employees recognize a pilot who has "de-blinged".

In hotels around airports I can have on a civilian polo, jeans, and a pair of running shoes. Frequent fliers and business people ask who I fly for. What gives it away? I knew I should not wear that hat when I go for a jog.

pilots tend to all dress a like, have the same haircut, and chances are they saw you hanging out with the crew. See a group composed of a middle aged white dude, young white dude, older black lady, and a gay Filipino man...yeah, they crew.
