Any info would be helpfull, everyone i have talked to that was a CFI said they learned a ton and wouldnt trade it for anything. But, as far as the seniority thing, not doing CFI would benefit me tremendously. I just wonder if i will have the knowledge to pass the training at a Regional.
If you have to ask that, you're not ready.

Also, a CFI gives you a great second option should your airline take a shyt.

Yeah but read it with the knowledge that it got locked by 727 before it became hurtful and negative (good work there Sir).

You're welcome.

Looking forward to doing more in the future to make this site a kinder, gentler, place.

I ask myself this question from time to time as well. However I also see that people are doing it everyday and some of them aren't exactly rocket scientists.

Wow, I'm showing my age here but back when I was instructing in the 80's Comair was the only regional (launch customer actually) for the 50 passenger regional jet. Their hiring minimums were more in line with what the majors are looking for now, and if you got the job you had to pay $11,000 for your training. Guys were doing it though, looking at getting 121 jet experience and jumping to a major. Like a lot have mentioned on this thread, I would have loved to bypass getting the CFI and get on at a regional instead, but I'm glad I instructed. I learned a ton, and made some great friends doing it. Good luck you guys!

The first CRJ was delivered in 92 with design studies originally beginning in 87, the first ERJ was delivered in 96. Comair was the domestic launch customer with Lufthansa being the worldwide launch customer. I'm sure they had their orders in long before 92.

Super-8, who for? Classic bird, it was one of my fathers favorites.

With all do respect; OK he’s had trouble and that's his problem not ours. We should support and help educate him so that he can improve on whatever deficiencies are holding him back from his first airline job. He's not attacking anyone, especially not you, so why constantly attack him? Pilot754 has tried several times to get direction and assistance from us and we (ya'll not me) bashed him for it. After all that’s one of the reasons this forum was originally started, guidance right? I applaud de727ups for putting the kibosh on that thread.

Squawk, I'm sure he at least knows what reserve is and why we line pilot depend up it. LOL See everyone is look for knowledge.

My point is that we shouldn't grind on him about his past everytime he posts. Let’s grow up!
