Barring the upgrade issue at Eagle, buddies8 and ryane946 display other issues of why not to go to Eagle. The pilot group is divided into 3 segments. Flowbacks, Senior CAs, and frustrated FOs. There is so much infighting at that place. Just like mgmt likes it. You know, divide and conquer.

Just another reason why I had to get out of that place.

This is true, but I really believe that AMR is trying to find alternative ways to have them move onto other carriers and/or AA in a stronger flowthrough agreement. At least Eagle is addressing this issue now and creating a solution, as opposed to companies like Skywest and CHQ that will have the same exact problem in a few years. How many CHQ/SKYW E170/CRJ700 CAs will leave their $100k paychecks to start over at another airline when they have a wife and kids in a few years....

Buddies...

Dude chill out.

I don't want people to get pushed out. Its want the freakin bean counters in DFW want. Its what Bain & co say Eagle needs. You think I want that? C'mon I'm no buddy fokker. I came to Eagle to sit S-2 every day and come home every night. And upgrade when it gets to me.

None of that changes the fact that they wat to prune the top wage earners. They can't change the compensation section of the contract. So what else is left for them to do?

How do you think they're going to accomplish that goal?

Do you really see a ton of guys taking a pay cut, and going to the bottom of a seniorty list to go fly 737s for a non-AMR company? I sure don't. In fact I haven't heard ONE person say that that isn't the shttyest idea they ever heard.

So what's the next move? Thier next move? The training department is already uptight anal-retentive central. Its not a stretch to think that they won't start making things more difficult. Bust twice and maybe some guys will take a walk rather than risk a third strike. FAA & ALPA on board or not.

Once again, I'm not making this stuff up. This is the scuttlebutt in the Northeast. Nobody knows how things are gonna end; up even the guys who make the decisions havent figured it out yet.

I think APA is gonna make Letter 3 die, and block ALL Eagle flow-throughs. Sen.# or no. If an arbitrator allows that to happen, then thing will get really sticky.

The MD-80s are going out to pasture, and AMR needs replacements. They also need a 100 seat airplane. What the MD-80s get repaced with, and if its one for one, or fewer, or more, depends entirely on the results of AA-APAs negotiations.

So it could be a perfect storm of retirements, call backs, flow throughs, and expansion (on both sides). Or AA retirements could continue to keep pace with the parking of MD80s, LOA 3 could be DOA, & Eagle could start parking ERJ's = stagnation or even retrenchment. Nobody knows, but for the first time in a while there's a real possibilty of signifigant improvement.
