Best place for street CA or quickest upgrade
Hey guys,
I know there are a couple of threads on this. They have all deviated or become a bit outdated. Stuff changes quickly out there so I was wondering if anyone had any current first hand info on a US regional that may yield the most PIC time. Something as of mid November.
Yes I’m aware that the quick upgrade or street CA program results in a less than desirable QOL. Some of us truly need the PIC and will be gone once the hour is satisfied. Any advice on who’s best right now?

In addition to DEC, you should probably consider places with "near DEC" where you can upgrade in under a year... that might improve your options with only minor loss of pay or risk of getting stuck in the right seat.

That too. Need a current snapshot of the industry to come up with a plan. Would hate to jump into the right and take a serious pay cut to only learn it’s going to be a couple of years.

Does base matter? Envoy will upgrade you in training and place you in the 145/ORD/LGA most likely.

I’m trying to get another 500 hours. From what I understand, at most AA wholly owned will get you 250 at best per year.

I agree, there may be better options for you outside of the AA wholly owned DEC. Since I don't live anywhere near the DEC bases, I'm not even considering it because of the commute. If you do live in one of those bases however, it could be a pretty good gig.

February is posting another 10 upgrades, likely to continue as we attempt to grow in this market.
You will be on reserve for a while, but since we're chronically short on captains, you WILL fly on reserve. Plan on a Newark base though, unless something radically changes.
I've been on reserve all year, will likely log close to 800 hours.

Last vacancy bid at CommutAir was for 20 captains in January. We awarded 12, including 5 new-hires.
