It is.

I first paid and used for their service back in 2010. I wasn’t successful in getting a job so I stopped paying the annual fee. Fast forward to 2014, when things started moving again, I logged back in, paid the fee, and all of my information was still in my account. I had to do very little work to get my app published again.

Pay the fee. Look at it as in investment in a potential multi-million filler career.

Sounds like Commutair is your #1 choice. Apply there, get an offer in a few weeks, then apply to your next choice.
No classes till Late Summer?! Pilot shortage came and then went.

Since the only way to apply to two of the three big legacies (which have all the retirements coming) is via airlineapps, anyone with career aspirations should pony up, fill out the app (correctly and meticulously) and publish for DL and UA as soon as you meet the mins. Then keep it updated. If you can use it to get a regional job too, that's a bonus.

More like training pipeline issues. Plenty of other regionals still cancelling due to lack of crew.

Yeah. Sure they do.
DFW/ORD 175 are the new hire bases. NY hasn't been given to new hires in a long time.

Never was a shortage, training and sim availability is the issue now. Many regional's that are able to, are stacking pilots like cord lumber in anticipation of constant movement. The less desirable ones are still struggling to fill classes.

For this argument to hold water training capacity must have DECREASED over the past several years?

This is plausible, a lot of check airmen/instructors have been hired by the majors.

Not exactly. Increased throughput by everybody is meeting constraints of sim availability, especially for the E-175. as well as the loss of regional LCAs and instructors to the majors. But further complicating the issue is that the applicant pool has lost experience. Five years ago, a person with only 25 hrs of ME time and 1500 TT wouldn't have even been remotely competitive. Now they are. And that has forced an expansion of the training footprint and sim sessions at many regionals.
